IMOGEN WELCH
In my drawings I like to explore the push and pull of mark-making and erasure; active and quiet; positive and negative.
The Australian bush can be one without focus - an elaborate pattern of curling leaves, crossing branches and complex ground cover that obscure and reveal, becoming impossibly complex and dense. In going about my drawings, I endeavour on a balancing act of inference and description in an attempt to make sense of how my eyes move through the landscape.
